Where to Search for the right Real Estate Agent
Before we begin discuss where to search for the right real estate agent. I am
going to have to being with some as to what is most important to look for in a
"right" real estate agent.
First, you are not looking for a hard working, experience slave. Anyone looking
for that would most likely run into a scammer. You are looking for an
inexperience, niave, but reliable, honest worker.
If you have any questions about these objectives, refer to my other articles.
Word of mouth from a reliable srouces is definitely the most reliable way to
find honest real estate agents. Your sources can be your honest friends or
family that does not get any commision from referals.
Your sources should have used these agents what made these agents reliable.
Meeting people in positive environments is good way to find real estate agents.
By going to church and volunteering, these people show interest can care in
strangers and the community.
Word of mouth and volunteer groups are passive coincidental finds and you would
not go out of your way to find these agents in those locations. However,
attending open houses where real estate agents already have clients can suggest
they might be reliable.
The Internet is filled with marketing gimmicks and has
no evidence that the agents are reliable.
Although the Internet is not dependable way to find honest agents. The Internet
is useful in validating whether the agent your found is a no good. People who
have had bad expereince may try post or rate these agents. One bad rating on the
Internet means a lot. Ten good ratings on the Internet means nothing.
Anything that involves paid advertisement only means the agent is good at
advertising. These is no clear evidence that suggest such agents can be trusted.
Once again, another unreliable source are these seminars. Agents are there only
to get you as a client. Your need to find evidence from others who do not get
paid to determine the reliability of these agents.
One thing to note: Do not based your searches by brand. RE/MAX has been know to make the most transactions.
But there is no evidence RE/MAX transactions are most beneficial to their
clients. In fact, I think if research was done, the reverse would only be true.
Another thing to note: Do NOT accept agents who specializes only in buying.
Agents that specializes means they know a lot about how to maximize their
commission for their own self-fish benefits.
