Two types of REal Estate agents: the type you want to avoid and the type you
want to hire
Real Estate Agents are entrepreneurs. For them to be successful, they have to
market themselves. Their foundation for the marketing strategy determines the
type of person you are dealing with.
These are the types of agents you want to avoid. You will see them on
search engines. It is the cheapest and most common way for buyers to search.
They claim to be able to do anything and everything like superman. They claim to
have all the skills you want. They claim their clients is the most important
thing in their careers. Why? Because they know what you want to hear and so they wil say even if it is a lie.
Whether they really have skills has no bearing.
They will tell you they coincidently specialize in your type, whatever that may be. They may
have hundreds of articles in their web site to attract google search hits, but
few real useful content.
This is the type of agent you want. You may hear about them through word of
mouth from a friend of yours, not theirs! You may search up the internet and
find many people rating them on unrelated sites and zero criticisms. One
criticism is one too many!
These agents claim nothing. Because to make such claims and not being able to
back it would be lying and these agents know better than that. Their repuation
is on the line.
They will help without telling you they are helping. They will make sure you do
the right thing without telling you they do the right thing. A key difference is
that they are action oriented, not talk oriented.
Referrals are a lot harder to find, but the extra work is worth it because they
are too busy helping clients than to market themselves on the internet.
